"New York (August 25, 2005) -- Switzerland's SEZ Holding AG has filed a complaint against chip equipment maker Applied Materials Inc., alleging a patent for semiconductor wafer technology was issued to the wrong inventor.
SEZ, along with its Austrian subsidiary SEZ AG and two German inventors, allege Applied Materials and one of its scientists ran off with co-created technology, leading to a patent issued.."

Sidenote to This Post: November 17, 2009 -- Nanotechnology developer Applied Materials Inc. said Tuesday it planned to pay about $364 million for chip equipment provider Semitool Inc. in an all-cash tender offer.
